FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, represents the most famous method for uploading web files to a hosting account. With FTP client software that is pre-installed on your desktop or laptop PC, you can establish a connection to your hosting server and copy all the files that you need with several clicks of the mouse. You can do this via a simple-to-navigate interface and it is as easy as dragging and dropping the aforementioned files. The advantage of using FTP is that you’ll be able to create separate FTP accounts, each with a different level of access to your server space, so if you have to grant somebody access, for example – a web designer, they will be able to connect only to one specific folder and won’t be able to view the remaining content or any other information, including personal details. You need three things in order to be able to set up an FTP connection – a hostname, which is normally an IP or a domain, a user name and a password.
FTP Accounts in Cloud Hosting
You will be able to set up as many FTP accounts as you like with any of the cloud hosting that we’re offering, because we have decided not to restrict this feature. In this way, you can run numerous sites simultaneously or provide other individuals with access to separate directories. Once a particular job has been fulfilled and you wouldn’t like that individual to be able to access your website files any longer, you can modify the password for the given FTP account or you can just delete the account with a couple of clicks of the mouse and stop worrying about anybody using it again. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with all website hosting plans, will allow you to view the complete list of the existing FTP accounts listed alphabetically. It takes just one single click to administer various options for any of them – to edit the password or the access path, to download an auto-configuration file, etc.
FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Hosting
Our semi-dedicated services are exceptionally powerful, which makes them suitable for hosting an immense number of websites. Speaking of which, we have decided not to put a limitation on the number of FTP accounts that you can create, so you can have a separate FTP account for each site that you host on our platform. All FTP accounts will be listed alphabetically in the respective section of the Hepsia Control Panel, which is offered with each semi-dedicated account. For any of them, you will be able to view the access path and to update it, if necessary. Also, you can set up an account in an FTP client by downloading an auto-configuration file and running it on your home computer, which will save you time. In case you have never used a web hosting account before, you can check our in-depth how-to video clips, which are available in the same section of the Control Panel.
